The Cambridge International Scholarships is targeted at ensuring that the 250 highest ranked students, regardless of their country get maximum financial support to assume a research leading to a PhD. Acting for the Cambridge University, the Cambridge Trust is choosing to offer the Vice-Chancellor’s Awards (for UK and EU students) and the Cambridge International Scholarships (for international students) for those undertaking PhD studies.

Eligibility For The Cambridge International Scholarship

Candidates can apply for the Cambridge International Scholarship if the following criteria are fulfilled:

• Be susceptible to foot the Overseas University Composition Fee ( be estimated as ‘Overseas’ for fee Status purposes, and not estimated at the Home/EU rate).

• Be a participant in a three or four-year research programme leading to the PhD (will be registered as PhD, “Probationary PhD” or “CPGS”) starting in the next academical year.

• Be a participant in a full-time study.

• Bag a high second class upper division in an undergraduate honours degree from a UK Higher Education Institution, or an identical from an Overseas Institution.

The Cambridge International Scholarship is a highly competitive one. Thus, in standing a high chance of being awarded the scholarship, these rule of thumb should be taken into consideration.
• Be acquainted with the guidelines and details of application
• Prepare a well-represented application
• Prepare an application with a non-specialist research audience in mind. Cambridge scholarship applicants are assessed by agency-specific multidisciplinary peer review committees.
• Ensure all required supporting documents are submitted with your application
• Include your academic performances. If you have had any top grade in school, do not hesitate to include it in your application. This goes a long way in standing an applicant out.
• Choose your referees carefully.

Documents Required For The Cambridge International Scholarship

• The final transcript of all previous exams as well as the final grade (Bachelor’s Degree). Should these documents be unavailable, candidates should submit an updated transcript of the exams

• Reference Letters written by a Tutor/Professor/Employer. Reference Letters must be addressed to the University. Applicants must also provide full contacts of the Tutor/Professor/Employer.

• CV (curriculum vitae)/ Resume

• English language certificate (IELTS or TOEFL)

• A valid Passport or Identity Document.

How To Apply For The Cambridge International Scholarship

In order to be eligible for a scholarship award, you must have applied for admission as a graduate student to the University of Cambridge. All applicants should complete the funding section of the online application form via the Applicant Portal expressing their ‘wish to be considered for funding’.

All scholarships require that you apply to the University of Cambridge via the normal online application form, and most scholarships require that you apply by the rele vant deadline.
