Nigerian Navy Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course| 27 Positions Available
The Nigerian Navy invites applications from Nigerians that are suitably qualified for enlistment into the Nigerian Navy through the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 2018.
Location: Nationwide
The positions available and entry qualifications are listed below:
1. General Doctor/Dental Surgeon
Entry Qualifications:
- MBBS, MBChB or equivalent.
- Must be fully registered by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and possess a current practising license.
2. Human Resource Management Officer
Entry Qualifications
- B.Sc, BA, HND or equivalent qualification in:
- Personnel Management.
- Public Administration.
- Human Resource Management.
3. Pharmacist
Entry Qualifications
- B. Pharm degree and full registration with the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria as well as have a current practising license.
4. Information Officer:
Entry Qualifications
- B.Sc/B.Tech/ B.Eng in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Priority will be given to candidates with relevant qualification in:
- Website development and management.
- Networking and network administration.
- Programming multimedia and software development.
- Server and database administration.
- Information and cyber security.
- Certification in relevant fields will be an added advantage.
5. Engineer
Entry Qualifications
- B.Sc or B.Eng qualifications in the following fields: Naval Architecture/Ship Design, Mechanical/Marine Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Aircraft Engineering/Aeronautical Engineering.
- Membership of Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and Council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria (COREN) will be an added advantage
6. Imam
Entry Qualifications
- Bachelor of Arts in Islamic Studies. Diploma in Counselling Psychology will be an added advantage.
7. Educationist
Entry Qualifications
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)/ B.Sc Ed in relevant fields.
- Holders of first degree with PGD in the following fields are also eligible:
- Mathematics.
- Physics.
- Chemistry.
- History.
- Library Science (B.Sc)
- French Language.
- Chinese Language.
- Guidance and Counselling.
- Computer Science.
- Arabic Language.
8. Chaplain
Entry Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Theology from a registered institution of theology from either of the following:
- Catholic Mission.
- Protestant Mission.
- Applicants must have completed 2 years apprenticeship in Apostolic Ministry and be recommended from the pastoral missions. In addition to qualifications required, applicants must be of male gender and duly ordained clergy of their respective Christian faith.
9. Accounts and Budget Officer
Entry Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Economics and Accounting.
- Membership of a professional body like ICAN, ANAN, ACMA, ACCA, ACA will be an added advantage.
10. Seaman
Entry Qualifications
- B.Sc/HND in Nautical Sciences.
- Membership of relevant professional body will be an added advantage
11. Hydrographer
Entry Qualifications
- Candidates should possess a B.Sc or HND in the following fields:
- Cartography
- Surveying/Geoinformatics
- Geophysics
- Physical Oceanography.
- Membership of the National Institute of Statistics will be an added advantage. Applicants with B.Sc Degree in Physics and Mathematics must possess a Post Graduate Diploma in Land Survey to be eligible
12.) Biomedical Engineer
Entry Qualifications
- B.Sc/HND in Biomedical Engineering with a current practising license.
13.) Information and Communication Technology Officer
Entry Qualifications
- B.Sc/B.Tech/ B.Eng in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Priority will be given to candidates with relevant qualification in:
- Website development and management.
- Networking and network administration.
- Programming multimedia and software development.
- Server and database administration.
- Information and cyber security.
- Certification in relevant fields will be an added advantage
14. Physiotherapist
Entry Qualifications
- Minimum of B.Sc/HND in Radiography with current practising license
15. Clinical Psychologist
Entry Qualifications
- BSc/HND in Clinical Psychology and Applied Psychology, with a current practising license.
16. Dietician
Entry Qualifications
- B.Sc or HND Dietician/Nutrition.
- Must be registered with Dietetics Council of Nigeria with a current practising license.
17. Optometrist
Entry Qualifications
- Doctor of Optometry.
- Must be a fully registered optometrist, dispensing optician by the Optical Council of Nigeria and have a current practising license.
18. Medical Records/Health Information Management Officer
Entry Qualifications
- Minimum of BSc/ HND required with a current practising license
19.) Medical Laboratory Science Officer
Entry Qualification
- BMLS or AIMLS/ equivalent and be fully registered with the Medical Laboratory Scientist Council of Nigeria as well as possess a current practising license.
20. Radiographer
Entry Qualifications
- Minimum of BSc/HND in Radiography with a current practising license.
21. Hospital Administrator
Entry Qualification
- B.Sc/HND in Hospital Administration with a current practising license.
22. General Nursing/ Midwife
Entry Qualifications
- B.NSc and RN/RM with a current practising license. Post basic qualification in any of the following fields will be an added advantage:
- Accident and Emergency Nurse.
- Intensive Care Unit Nurse.
- Peri-Operative Nurse.
- Ophthalmic Nurse.
- Dialysis/Renal Nurse.
23. Graduate Sports/PT Instructor
Entry Qualifications
- BA/HND in Physical & Health Education or Human Kinetics and Health Education.
- Proficiency in any physical sport will be an added advantage.
24. Logistics Officer
Entry Qualifications
- B.Sc/HND/B Eng in the following fields:
- Transport Management.
- Economics, Business Management or in Purchasing and Supply.
- Architecture.
- Catering/Hospitality Management.
- Civil Engineering.
- Quantity Survey.
- Structural Engineering.
- Estate Surveyor and Value.
- Final Certificate of Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology.
25. Legal Officer
Entry Qualifications
- LLB and BL
- A minimum of 2 years post qualification experience is required.
26. Graduate Music Instructor
Entry Qualifications
- BA/HND in Music.
- Proficiency in any musical instrument will be an added advantage.
27. Public Health Officer
Entry Qualification
- B.Sc/HND in Environmental
