ExxonMobil Undergraduates Scholarship 2018 – Eligibility, Application & Requirements

Apart from ExxonMobil scholarship, there are many other scholarships like AGIP Scholarship, Chevron scholarship, PTDF Scholarship, Total Scholarship, Agbami Scholarship to mention but a few, available to undergraduates and postgraduate students in their academic pursuit.

About ExxonMobil Undergraduate Scholarship

As a way to support human capacity building and educational development, the operator of NNPC, Mobile Producing Nigeria awards scholarships every year to deserving undergraduates in universities in Nigeria. Students who are presently in the universities in Nigeria, regardless of the state of origin.

A total of 500 scholarships funded by Mobil Producing Nigeria are awarded yearly to qualified and suitable students who are currently admitted in Nigerian Universities irrespective of the state of origin including the FCT. Notwithstanding, 62% of the overall scholarships are given to students who are indigenes of Akwa-Ibom(50%) and Rivers (12%),  the operational states. 10% of the total scholarship is awarded to the best 50 candidates in the selection tests. The remaining 16% is awarded to students from many different places based on fair geographical spread and on merit.

Under the NNPC/MPN joint venture undergraduate scholarship program, 60% of the scholarships in Nigeria goes to students in core disciplines of Engineering and Geosciences, while 40% are for other approved social sciences and business related studies. The scholarship is awarded strictly based on merits as determined from the candidates’ academic records, conduct and performance in the selection tests. In order to the scholarship awards process well deserved and make use of existing information and communication technologies (ICT), candidate’s selection test is conducted through an electronic computer-based testing. The e-testing is organized in several assessment centres across the country.

Eligibility for ExxonMobil Scholarship

1. Candidates that apply for this scholarship must be 100 or 200 level students in the universities doing any of the following courses:

Engineering (Chemical, Civil, Electrical/Electronics, and Mechanical),

Geophysics

Medicine

Geology

Computer science

Agricultural Science and related fields.

2. Applicants must not be currently on similar scholarship awards from other oil and gas companies.

3. Applicants must have SSCE  or its Equivalent with at least six subjects passed at a sitting.

4. Applicants must not be dependants of employees of Mobil Producing Nigeria, Mobil Oil Nigeria Plc and Esso Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited

5. Applicants must be registered full-time undergraduates in their 1st or 2nd year of study in any Nigerian University.

Before applying for this scholarship, have clearly scanned copies of the following documents ready:

• Current University ID card
• Admission letter
• JAMB Result
• Passport photograph with white background not more than 3 months old (450px by 450px not more than 200kb)
• O’ Level result
• Birth certificate
• SSCE result or it’s equivalent
• Evidence of State of origin obtained from the appropriate Local Government Area and duly signed by the Chairman or Secretary
